Teaching Philosophy

As a dance educator, I feel it is important to consider the physical, social, psychological, and creative needs of each student. I create an inclusive, diverse, and respectful environment for all of my students and encourage self-expression and student empowerment. Because dance has always been an outlet of expression and a safe space for me, I strive to create this same space for my students.  Overall, I help students set and achieve goals in an inclusive and encouraging environment. I do this by giving students the tools to succeed and inspiring them to become self-disciplined, responsible, and compassionate dancers and people.  I allow students to explore dance in many different ways including athletically, artistically, and creatively. I value and validate each student and their needs, goals, and progress. Ultimately, I wish for my students to leave my class feeling inspired, valued, and successful.
